Amogha 3 is a 3rd gen atgm developed by BDL which was showcased in def expo 2020.

Amogha was a family of atgm & amogha 1st was a wire guided 2nd gen atgm which had top range of 2.6 kms, then amogha 2 was tested which was a 3rd gen atgm with reduced range but wireless guidance and now the latest amogha 3 atgm which is a 3rd gen atgm.

Amogha 3 has a top range of about 2.5 kms as stated and a penetration in excess of 650mm of RHA beyond ERA (explosive reactive armour). It also features a direct attack or a top attack mode which means it goes high up in air and attacks tank from top where it has the least amount of armour, also top attack missile is less vulnerable to APS or active protection systems which means the chances of it being shot down by a hard kill system is lower.

With so many atgm programs nowdays its easy to lose track of atgm being developed but few 3rd gen one's are

6)SANT heli launched
7) amogha family (1,2,3)
8) CLGM which is a tank fired atgm being developed for arjun

Some more except these are also under development and are being developed both by psu and private firms.

With such development its safe to assume that IA would not require expensive imported 3rd gen atgm from foreign firms. Although some one them are under development and others merely in user trial but these projects will yield results and if tested properly and within time frame, we can expect few to make it to service by 2022.
