HAL BAGS ORDER FOR 41 DHRUV/ALH FOR INDIAN FORCES

HAL has signed a new contract worth 6100 crore ₹ or 0.95 billion dollars to supply 41 Advance Landing Helicopter or Dhruv for Indian army and Indian navy.

This is a combined order by Navy and Army and the helicopters and within 60 months / 5 years the contract would be executed. The production of these helicopters will be done in HAL helicopter complex, Bengaluru. About 18 of these 41 will be armed variant which will be for the Indian army aviation corps.

This order should not be confused with the earlier order of 32 Dhruv Helicopter  1.2 billion $ or 8000 crore ₹ which was for NAVY & Coastguard.

Now some of u must be thinking that 41 costed 0.95 billion dollars or 6100 crore ₹ but the earlier order of 32 costed 1.2 billion dollars or 8000 crore ₹, the reason for this is explained in my earlier post ( link below)

"32 HAL DHRUV FOR NAVY & COASTGUARD COSTING 1.2 BILLION $- WHY SO EXPENSIVE ?"

The new order shows the trust our armed forces have on the indigenous helicopter and truely empowers MAKE IN INDIA.

Other than this HAL has also started the production of first batch of HAL light Combat helicopter or LCH, which is first dedicated indigenous attack helicopter. I have discussed about capabilities of LCH and have compared it with other attack Helicopters in my original post. ( Link below)

  2. Good for the Indian country. But I must say, that if these helicopters are used for a good cause only then it's good for them. Because what goes around, comes around.
