FULL SCALE HAL LCH PRODUCTION BEGINS

On Saturday evening the Defence minister Mr Arun Jaitley inaugurated the production facility of HAL light combat helicopter in Bengaluru. These HAL LCH will be built within HAL's helicopter complex.

"HAL Light Combat Helicopter - Achieving New Heights"

The indigenously designed and developed light combat helicopter HAL LCH is the first Indian attack helicopter which is designed for high altitude warfare. The need for high altitude capable attack helicopter was felt during kargil war when none of the dedicated attack helicopter in IAF's arsenal was able to even fly at the required altitude.



LCH is currently the only attack helicopter in world which is capable of landing and operating from the helipad located at world's highest battlefield SIACHEN with a considerable amount of weapons payload.

Last year on 7 November 2016 the Ministry of defence cleared the purchase of 15 HAL LCH helicopters for IA and IAF.the order was pegged at about 2900 crore INR.

As reported inn my main post on LCH the army has a committed order of 114 LCH and airforce of 65 LCH. This order can further be increased in future as army wishes to equip all core's with attack helicopters. Also HAL LCH has a tremendous potential for exports.

Equipped with state of the art avionics,sensors and weapons HAL LCH provides a reliable cost effective solution to expensive foreign helicopters and it easily matches and in many fields surpasses it opponents like carrying heavy payloads at high altitudes.

With the inauguration of the facility the HAL LCH has now entered the full scale production and now the Indian Attack helicopter has finally took off towards achievement of new heights.
